John Larsen founded Ground Matters, LLC to give homeowners, businesses, and contractors the one thing that’s often missing from well projects: independent, expert guidance.

A Civil Engineering graduate from UMass Amherst and a former geotechnical engineer with Stone & Webster in Boston, John spent years supervising drilling operations, borehole installations, and soil and groundwater testing on some of New England’s biggest infrastructure projects, including Boston’s ‘Big Dig’. In the mid-1990s, he entered the water well drilling industry full time, selling and managing residential and commercial installations across Massachusetts.

By 2002, John launched Well Water Connection, Inc. — the region’s first dedicated well water consulting and project management firm. Well Water Connection grew into a successful, full-service water well drilling, pump installation, and water treatment company offering design, sales, installation, servicing, and maintenance of wells, pumps, and water treatment systems across Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. 

Now through Ground Matters, LLC, John continues to bring technical know-how, clear communication, and unbiased advice to every client engagement.
